There will be three great films shown during the Helper Arts, Music and Film Festival, all with local roots.

The first, “The Adventure’s of Power,” was filmed in Helper and first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. This will show on Friday, Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. The second film, “Mule Dalgo,” was filmed at the San Rafael Swell and will be shown on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m.

The final film will be on Sunday evening and is “Resilience and the Lost Gems.” This was also filmed at the San Rafael Swell and ties into the exhibit being introduced at the Western Mining and Railroad Museum as it focuses on the forgotten Chinese railroad workers.

The director of “Resilience and the Lost Gems” will be at the festival, along with some members of the cast, and a question and answer forum will be hosted once the film concludes. All films will be shown at the Rio Theater on Helper’s Main Street.
