Carbon, Emery and four other teams got together on Wednesday to start the season with the first golf meet. The Dinos came away with the win after the team scored 317 points.
Although only the school’s top four golfers’ scores count in the team score, Carbon had a great showing as all of its six players came in under 100 strokes. Nick Olson (CHS) and Jaren Anderson (Richfield) had the best round of the day with 77 scores. Only four strokes separated the Dino’s top four as Brady Gagon ended at 79, Kaden Slavensky at 80 and Bode Salas at 81.
Richfield came in second at 336, Grand in third at 339 and Emery in fourth at 398.
Kavery Killpack and Trevin Waitefield both led the Spartans with 99 strokes on the day. Full scores are listed above.
