The students of Helper Middle School’s FCCLA helped make Valentine’s Day a little more special for senior citizens in Carbon County.

The members visited Beehive Homes, Parkdale Care Center, Pinnacle Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Heirloom Inn on Friday with Valentines adorned with their own special messages, handmade fleece blankets, soda pop with their message of “I’ve got a crush on you” and care packages. Students were able to spread joy and love to the senior citizens just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Nursing home residents smiled as they read their surprise gifts, wrapped themselves in their new blankets and loved spending time with the FCCLA students. Students interacted with the seniors, keeping them company as they helped them create their own melted crayon Valentine hearts to give to their special someone.

FCCLA members touched over 120 seniors on this day and are extremely grateful they were able show their love to others.
