Huntington City’s annual Heritage Days celebration was a hit once again as the city’s residents and neighboring community members gathered for multiple days of fun.
The celebration kicked off on June 28 and 29 with the annual Heritage Days Rodeo. Cowboys and cowgirls, both young and old, took part in the two-day rodeo while the Straight Canyon Band provided music each night. June 29 also featured a fun shoot in Huntington Canyon at the Seeley Farm.
The Huntington Glee celebrated 100 years of music with a patriotic program on June 30. With a brief one-day intermission, the festivities resumed on July 2 with dinner in the park, entertainment by Millennial Beat and a cornhole tournament.
In anticipation of the Fourth of July, activities for kids were the highlight on July 3. Fireworks, a parade, ice cream and more all took place in conjunction with a horseshoe tournament.
The activities on July 4 began bright and early with a fun run. A flag ceremony followed along with breakfast in the park. One of the celebration’s most popular events, the annual parade down Main Street, took place at 10 a.m. The day continued with kids’ activities, entertainment by Route 10 Band, Stones Throe and Hypno Hick, and lawn mower races before concluding with fireworks at dusk.
