Jaxson Carlisle recently got word that he received an invitation to represent the United States on the 18U USA Baseball Team next summer. The team will consist of 15 players from throughout the nation. There are three 18U USA Teams, so Carlisle is one out 45 players to be selected nationwide, and the only representative from Utah. Of the three teams, one will travel to Cuba, the other to Australia and Carlisle’s will go to Puerto Rico on July 21.

The team will have two days to gel and then a round-robin tournament will commence. USA’s pool includes national teams from Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and China. Carlisle and the US Team will have a game each day from July 23-27, and play each of these opponents once. If they finish in the top two of their pool, they will advance to the tournament’s semifinal game on July 28. The winner of that game will play the following day in the championship game.

Carlisle is currently a senior at Pinnacle, playing both baseball and basketball. For the US Team, he has been asked to pitch and play third base. He has already verbally committed to continue his baseball career for Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa after he graduates from Pinnacle.
