The Lady Dino golf team played its first competitive round of golf at Mt. View Golf Course on Wednesday. Providence Hall hosted the event and its team had the two lowest scorers on the day.

Brooklyn A. and Morgan M. shot a 91 and 92, respectively. Carbon’s Jordan Bianco led the Dinos by also shooting a 92, one stroke off the top score. Sam King, Aubrey Fausett and Kirsten Etzel all scored under 110 to help the Lady Dinos get a win in their first competition of the season. Due to the snow in Carbon and Emery Counties this year, taking first is especially impressive for a group that only played one full round of golf before Wednesday.

Carbon won with a score of 406, just eight strokes below second place Providence Hall (414). Union came in third with a 516 score.

“My girls played very well in completely miserable conditions, rain and cold,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “Nothing is waterproof after four hours. I am very proud of my girls and their perseverance.”

Up next, the Lady Dinos will play at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course on March 13 with hosts Maeser Prep.
