Due to the cold, wet weather, the Lady Dinos had only played one game before this past weekend. Carbon found itself on both sides of close games and blowouts last week.

The Lady Dinos were able to hold off Pine View on Thursday to get the 9-8 win. Pine View nearly completed an epic comeback with a five-run seventh before Carbon closed the door. Clarissa Noyes went 3-4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Brooke Moosman pitched five innings while only giving up two earned runs on five hits.

Carbon then lost 16-7 against Davis. The Lady Darts pulled ahead with big innings in the third and fifth, compiling 11 of their 16 total runs. Kaytlyn Cripps had three hits in four at bats with a double and a homer. She knocked in three RBIs and scored two runs in the loss.

Chunk innings hurt the Lady Dinos on Friday as well. Carbon was up 6-3 in the sixth before Desert Hill scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to claim the 9-7 win. Dakota Kraushaar went 3-4 with a double and one RBI while Lyndsey Madrigal hit a home run in the contest.

The Lady Dinos then beat up on Green Canyon 12-1. Allee Abeyta and Cierra Smuin each had three RBIs in the victory. Cripps did not give up any earned runs in her four innings of pitching.

On Saturday, Carbon continued demolishing opponents with a 16-6 win over Bonneville. Moosman went 3-4 with two RBIs and also pitched four innings with zero earned runs on three hits.

Pahrump Valley was the next victim for the Lady Dinos. Carbon emerged victorious in its last game of the weekend by a score of 14-8. Smuin led the team with three RBIs while Kraushaar went 3-4.

The Lady Dinos will travel to play San Juan on Tuesday and then open up region play with a home game against Juab on Thursday.
