Lady Dinos Glide Past Delta, Union

Carbon faced off in the pool with Delta and Union on Thursday. The girls’ relays got things going with wins in the 200 medley as well as 200 and 400 free.

In individual events, Kacee Barrett, Ashlin Baker and Haylie Powell went 1-2-3 respectively in the 200 free. Barrett went on to win the 100 free as well. Sofia Crompton finished first with a personal record (PR) in the 200 IM, dropping 1.35 seconds off her time. The Lady Dinos grabbed the top three spots in the 50 free as well with Emily Jespersen (30.01), Nicole Swasey (30.54) and Jacee Richards (30.84).

Tyrca Jaramillo won the 100 fly with a huge drop in her PR. She cut off 3.86 seconds with her 1:21.03 finish. She then concluded her day with a victory in the 100 back. Swasey grabbed a first place finish in the 500 free. Carbon had yet another 1-2-3 finish in the 100 breast with Baker, Crompton and Logan Odendahl.

Matthew Torres was the lone Dino to take gold for the boys’ team, which he grabbed in the 100 fly. The Dinos grabbed second with 285 points to Union’s 378. The Lady Dinos ended on top with Union in second, 413 to 318.
