Carbon High was buzzing Friday evening as supportive friends, family members and classmates gathered to pay tribute to the 2017-18 Dino cheerleaders and highlight younger cheerleaders from the area.

As part of the school’s annual cheer showcase, the cheerleading squads started the weekend entertaining those in attendance with a variety of performances learned throughout the year. A special send off was also given to the senior cheerleaders that will be graduating in May.

This year, the Lady Dinos brought home two second-place finishes at the state cheer competition with impressive showings in the pom and school song categories. The squad also managed fourth place in the show routine.

Also at the state competition, Dino Jordyn Gagon took second in the 3A jump off competition while teammates Isabelle Chavez and Alexia Johnson were selected as members of the all state team.

The squad is led by head coach Trish Anderson.
