A fourth quarter push by the Pinnacle Lady Panthers was not enough to secure a region win on Saturday as the team was edged out 50-42 by Whitehorse High School.

The hosting Lady Panthers got behind early as Whitehorse came out to take a seven-point lead after the first, 17-10. Pinnacle outscored the visiting team for the only quarter in the second, 16-11, to trail by two at the half.

After the break, shooting woes doomed the Panthers as they managed only six points in the third while Whitehorse chipped in a game high 18. Pinnacle held the visiting team to only four points in the fourth, but was not able to make up the deficit.

Alexus Sasser led the Panthers with 16 points. Zoey Kocks was also in double digits with 12, including two buckets from downtown.

The loss was Pinnacle’s (7-17, 0-10 Region 19) final game of the 2017-18 season.
