The Lady Spartans played the Juab Wasps in the state semifinals on Friday evening. Megan Jensen started things off with an offensive rebound and quick put back to get Emery on the board. The Lady Spartans were relentless on defense and meticulous on offense as then steadily pasted the Lady Wasps. By the end of the first quarter, it was 16-7 Emery.

The Lady Spartans continued their great play and doubled up Juab in the opening half, 30-15. That was all the room this talented team would need as it cruised to a 59-30 victory.

Kacelyn Toomer led all scorers with 13 points, six rebounds and six steals. Ambree Bennett followed with solid game of her own with 12 points and three assists. Bailey Huggard let her presence be known down-low with six rebounds to go along with a handful of blocks. Megan Jensen and Kinlee Toomer each added 10 points.

The Lady Spartans are one win away from defending their title with a perfect season. They will take on the other one seed, Grantsville, at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening. The Lady Cowboys will provide an interesting match-up as they are bigger and longer than other opponents Emery has faced this year. Catch all the action on ETV Channel 10 and online.
