The Emery High School Lady Spartans learned why the Richfield Wildcats are the number one team in 2A, losing the Region 15 matchup 59-39.

2A’s leading scorer Megan Bean dropped in 17 points and grabbed nine boards to lead the way for Richfield, who lead 54-25 after three quarters.
Blayr Jeffs paced Emery with 12 points. Kim Oldroyd pitched in with nine. Oldroyd also pulled down seven rebounds.
The Spartans dropped to 3-3 in region play, while the Wildcats remained perfect at 7-0. Emery is 4-11 on the season.
The Spartans play at Grand tomorrow, then host San Juan to finish up their Region 15 schedule on Friday.
