The Lady Spartans celebrated a win on Monday, but were defeated Tuesday for an up and down beginning to the week. A convincing win against South Sevier, 13-1 started things off right for Emery but a 12-2 loss to San Juan left the team down, but not out.

A strong showing against the South Sevier Rams left Makayla Clark with two home runs and the Spartans with a total of 10 hits and 13 runs. Emery only allowed one run during this game which came in the third inning. A great start to a jam packed week of softball.

On Tuesday, tides changed as the San Juan Broncos defeated Emery by 10 runs. During this game, the Lady Spartans had only four hits and two runs which came in the fourth inning. Bronco players managed 12 runs, 12 hits and four homers against Emery. The game was called at the end of the fifth.

Following the loss on Tuesday, the Spartans region record stood at 2-5 and 8-13 overall.

With games against Uintah and Richfield this week, Emery High Lady Spartans will be looking to ride back to the top of the roller coaster.
