The Lady Spartans hosted their annual Senior Night on Tuesday. Kinlee and Kacelyn Toomer, Bailey Huggard, Ambree Bennett, Morgan Hurdsman and Megan Jensen were all honored before the game.

Then it was on to face the Grand Red Devils. The seniors played the majority of the game and their experience and talents were on full display. Five of the six seniors reached double-digit scoring as the reins were loosened on the Lady Spartans, who exploded for 106 points on the night. They were up 31-6 after the first quarter of play and extended their lead to 55-19 at half. Emery held Grand to three points in the following period while putting up another 24 points to make it 79-22 going into the final quarter. With their sights set on reaching triple-digits in scoring, the Lady Spartans attained 101 points with over a minute left in the game. All the seniors on the court were then subbed out for one last home crowd applause. Emery would win its 20th straight game of the season 106-33.

Jensen led the way with a double-double recording several team-highs with 27 points, 14 rebounds, five steals, and four blocks. She also had three assists in her effort. Kinlee had 21 points and a team-high seven assists while Kacelyn put in 19 points with six rebounds and 3 blocks. Both Toomer girls had three steals apiece in the contest. Hurdsman hit four three-pointers on the night to reach 20 points to go along with her six rebounds and three steals. Bennett added 10 points, three rebounds and three assists while Huggard did not have many scoring opportunities but pulled down seven rebounds to help in the victory.

Emery was 54% from the field converting on 43 shots of 80 attempts. The Lady Spartans had 16 offensive and 25 defensive rebounds for 41 total as a team. They moved the ball well and had 22 assists while grabbing 19 steals.

It was the Lady Spartans first home game since becoming Region 15 Champions. After the game, all the players took turns climbing the latter to cut down the net in celebration of the Region 15 Title. Emery (20-0, 11-0 Region 15) has one more game to complete its unblemished regular season. The Lady Spartans will travel to San Juan (11-9, 5-5 Region 15) on Thursday to take on the Broncos in the Corral.
