Gunnison scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead over the Emery Lady Spartans Friday night, breaking a seven-all tie to take the non-conference win, 10-8.
Addy Healy led the Lady Spartans with two hits in three at-bats, including a double. Braileigh Clark knocked in a team-high two runs in the game. She also pitched four innings in the game, allowing four earned runs on seven hits while striking out three batters. Kaejha Johnson picked up the loss in the circle after giving up five runs, one earned, in two innings pitched.
Emery scored two runs in each of the first, third and fourth innings, and a run in each of the fifth and seventh innings.
Emery (0-2, 0-0 Region 15) will host Grand for the its Region 15 opener (2-0, 0-0 Region 15) on Tuesday.
