The Utah Quilt Expo was recently hosted at the Mountain America Expo Center. Two locals, Deri Lee and Dazi Mae Thatcher, attended the event and returned home triumphant. Both participants entered the “Stars and Stripes: What Do I See?” 4-H quilt contest.

9 finalists statewide were in this category and each finalist received a certificate of completion, a sewing bag, several patterns, a 10 inch seam guide and embroidery thread. The 4-H in Emery County boasts many opportunities for youth in the area to learn to sew, practice leadership skills, cook and much more.

For more information on 4-H, contact the USU Eastern Extension Office at (435) 381-3535.
