The Carbon County Employee of the Month for March was announced during Wednesday evening’s regularly scheduled commission meeting.

This month, the employee highlighted was Lynette Eaquinta. Eaquinta has worked in the attorney’s office for nearly 24 years now and was honored by Carbon County Human Resources Director Rose Barnes as well as attorney Jeremy Humes.

Humes had many ways to boast about Eaquinta, stating that she never seeks out any kind of recognition or praise. He also stated that nobody at the attorney’s office ever has to worry, because they know that the job is always going to be completed with Eaquinta.

“Lynette is so great to work with because there is never a complaint, she is always happy,” Humes expressed.

He continued by recalling a number of years ago when the office made the decision to go entirely paperless. Humes stated that this completely changed the office and was a major process, but Eaquinta had a fantastic attitude in ensuring that it was completed.

Humes also spoke on the changes dictated through the juvenile court. Humes stated that, three or four months after those changes, the reworking process required had to be started all over again. Though this is tiring work, Eaquinta is always eager to learn and implement. However, Humes stressed that the best example of Eaquinta’s work ethic was the tie he was wearing.

Humes explained that the tie is a staple in the office and is revered as being the tie to wear to solve a case. The tie, over 30 years old, became torn and one day disappeared. When it returned, the attorneys learned that Eaquinta had taken the tie home to repair and bring back, out of the goodness of her heart.

Eaquinta also spoke briefly, touching on her history personally with the attorney’s office and getting started. She expressed that she is very grateful to have gotten the job as those in the office helped her through a lot in her life.
