The Blue Sage Arena in Castle Dale hosted the McArthur Mini Bull Season Finale on Oct. 19. There were three different age groups of riding, peewee (6-8), junior (9-11) and senior (12-16).

In peewee, Ryder Reiners took the all-around after finishing on top in both the first and second rounds. Riggin Ivie took second in the second round but no one else was able to put together a qualifying ride.

Orrin McElprang bested Ryder Coasts in the first round of juniors. In the second round, McKennon Williams was the only rider to qualify and nobody was able to do so in the short go. Orrin McElprang came away winner of the junior division.

The senior group was full of talented riders. Cole Magnuson had the high score in the first round. He was followed by Jayden Allison, Chris Stayley and Hunter Hopes. Stayley ended on top in the second round just ahead of Magnuson. Allison came in third and Kayden World fourth. It all came down to the short go where Magnuson was able to edge out Stayley while Hopes and World tied for third. Magnuson ended with the highest average to take the senior division.

The top five riders of each age group will advance to the International Mini Bull Rider Association (IMBA), which will be held at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas. Challengers in Las Vegas will be from Australia, Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Those from Emery County that will be making the trip to Las Vegas to compete are Magnuson, Hopes and World in seniors as well Hesston McArthur, McElprang and Dalton Allred in juniors and Ivie in peewee.

The World Finals are from Dec. 5-8 during the NFR in the Core Arena. The event will be televised on Ride TV.
