Price native Robbie Mitchell took to the track once again at a recent WORCS race in Primm, Nev. A quick start at the line and consistent riding pushed Mitchell to a third place finish, earning him his second podium finish of the year.

Mitchell got off the line quick, coming up just behind the leader for some time. After getting stuck behind some other riders, the leader grabbed a large gap.

“They ran us at the same time as the motorcycles again and we had to share half of the track with them,” Mitchell explained. “While its a cool idea on paper, its a pain in the butt on the track. We were guaranteed that we would not catch the bikes on the first lap, but half way through the first lap we caught some of them. The leader was able to get by them clean, but I got stuck behind them. Every time I would pass one, another would get in my way and hold me up. The leader was able to gap me because of this.”

Despite getting stuck, Mitchell still pulled out a third place finish, putting him on the podium for the second time this year.

“This is the first time I have ever started a year off with back-to-back podiums,” Mitchell said. “I’m really excited to see what is to come the rest of this season.”

Mitchell will now gear up for a race in Peoria, Ariz. He will line up at Canyon Raceway on March 1.
