On Wednesday evening at the Carbon County Commission meeting, sealed bids were opened concerning the cost and time it will take to build the new courthouse/administration facility for Carbon County.

Six bids from various contractors were received and included the time it would take the company to complete the project and the estimated cost. Time frames ranged from 390-530 days and costs for the building could be anywhere from $15.8 million to over $17.7 million.

To determine the best option for the county, the bids will be reviewed in greater detail than what was discussed at the commission meeting.

The fate of what is to become of the current courthouse on Main Street has yet to be decided.
