Carbon County Senior Center will host the next AARP Driver Safety Class on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Topics to be discussed in the four hour class include: individual changes that occur as people age – vision, hearing, reaction time, medications and agility; new changes in the traffic rules and new devices – flashing yellow turn arrows, roundabouts and more; changes in the automobiles we drive with the many safety devices – Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Electronic Stability Control and other devices.
Certificates of completion will be given at the end of the class to give to their auto insurance agent to receive a discount. When both husband and wife take the class, both receive the discount and it is effective for three years. Cost for AARP members if $15 and $20 for others.
