November Trust Lands Auction to Benefit Public Schools, University of Utah College of Mines and Earth Sciences

Salt Lake City – The School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) holds its biannual public auction 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in the boardroom of its main office located at 675 East 500 South in Salt Lake City.

SITLA will sell seven trust land parcels totaling 315 acres. All proceeds from the auction will be deposited into the permanent endowments for public schools and College of Mines and Earth Sciences at the University of Utah.

Two parcels at auction will benefit the University of Utah College of Mines and Earth Sciences:

Mine Road C-26844: 40 acres in Emery County; $35,000 minimum bid

Willow Creek C-26845: 188.9 acres in Sevier County; $150,000 minimum bid

Five parcels benefit the K-12 Permanent School Fund:

Pleasant Valley Parcels, Duchesne County
C-26838-A: 40.68 acres; $40,000 minimum bid
C-26838-B: 41.80 acres; $45,000 minimum bid

Widtsoe Townsites Garfield County

C-26846-A: 1.0 acre; $9,000
C-26846-B: 1.0 acre; $9,000

C-26846-C: 1.0 acre; $9,000

SITLA manages Utah’s 3.4 million acres of trust lands on behalf of 12 beneficiaries designated at statehood. The agency generates revenue through leases, rents, royalties, and limited sales of trust lands.
