At the Orangeville City Council meeting on Tuesday, one of the first items discussed was the approval for Karen Sitterud to reserve the community center for a foster care group that will be meeting together.

Another item discussed during the meeting was the rental fees for commercial use of the community center. Currently, commercial use of the building is $100 per day. The council wants to change it to $100 for all day for the first three days it’s used, then it will be free the rest of the month, or $50 for half of the day for three days, then free after that for the rest of the month. This will begin on Jan. 1.

The employee city party will be Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. The city annual Christmas party is Dec. 5. at 5 p.m. They will be serving soup and chili. Look on Orangeville’s Facebook page for more information.

Carol Stilson commented on how appreciative she was of the youth city council who went to her house to rake her leaves.

Ben Orgill reported of the damage at the city park’s girls bathroom door and the lawn being torn up from a truck doing donuts in the snow.

Starting on Jan. 1, Orangeville will be charged a tippage fee at the county landfill. It appears that it is going to be somewhere between $1.60 and $1.75. This will be throughout all of Emery County. For individuals whose trash weight is 1,000 pounds or less, there will be no charge. For over 1,000 pounds, there will be a tippage fee of $15. For senior citizens and those who are disabled, there will be a charge between $1.75 and $2.00 per garbage can for a reduced rate, but families will cost more because of more weight. Those with questions or comments may contact the city council.
