Over 50 Local Athletes to Participate in This Weekend’s BYU Invitational

A total of 54 athletes will be taking part in the prestigious BYU Invitational Friday and Saturday in Provo.

The following is a breakdown of who will be participating and in what disciplines:

Emery: Ashlynn Allred: 100, 200, 400 meters and 4×100 relay. Allred has posted the second fastest 100 meter time in the state this year (12.41). Hannah Dyer: 100 meters and 4×100, 4×400, and sprint medley relays. Camry Johnson: 400 meters and 4×100, 4×400 and sprint medley relays. Allyson Woolsey: 400 and 800 meters, and 4×400 and sprint medley relays. Kelsie Cox: 4×100 relay. Kassidee Oakeson: 800 and 1600 meters. Erin Hurst: 800 ,1600 and 3200 meters, 4×400 relay. Ashley Guymon: 1600 meters. Paytn Jeffs: high jump, long jump, 4×100 and sprint medley relays. Laryssa Guymon: discus, javelin and shot put. Ryan Cox: 100, 200 and 4×100 relay, javelin. Beau Ivie: 100, 200 meters and 4×100 relay, long jump. Cameron Allred: 100 and 200 meters, and 4×100 relay. Logan Cox: 100, 200 and 400 meters, and 4×100 relay. Matt Meacham: 110 hurdles, 400 meters, and 4×100 relay. Shem Guymon: 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Jax Gardner: 300 meter hurdles. Justin Jennings: high jump. Raymond Brazier: high jump and long jump. Justan Potter: high jump. Nathan Potter: shot put. Carter Chyanne: shot put and discus.

Carbon: Sarah Ohlwiler: 100 and 100 meter hurdles, long jump, 4×100 relay. Jordyn Oman: 100, 200 meters, 4×400 relay. Jordan Scoggins: 100 and 300 meter hurdles, long jump, 4×400 relay. Lindsey Blanc: (will not participate due to fractured foot) 200 and 400 meters, long jump, and 4×100 and 4×400 relays. Zaharah Rossi: 3200 meters and sprint medley relay (did not qualify for 3200 meter race). Giovanna Chiara: 400 meters, high jump and 4×100 and sprint medley relays. Shelby Cornforth: high jump and 4×400 relay. Morgan Hillam: high jump. Lexi Monson: high jump and 4×100 and sprint medley relays. Jayde Moynier: high jump. Abbie Powell: long jump and high jump. Vanessa Schade: high jump. Jaylie Jensen: javelin. Taylor Oliver: javelin. Annika Hansen: shot put. Sadie Crompton: 4×400. Karina Ivory: long jump and 4×100 and sprint medley relays. Kyle Barrett: 100 and 200 meters, 4×400 and sprint medley relays. Dallin Quinton: 100 and 200 meters, long jump, sprint medley relay. Garrett Marsing: 800, 1600, and 3200 meters, sprint medley relay. Payton Fausett: high jump and 4×400 relay. Braxton Jones: high jump. Gabe Van Dyke: high jump. Connor Holyoak: long jump and 4×400 and sprint medley relays. Cache Barrett: 4×400 relay. Kyle Quinton: 4×400 and sprint medley relays. Drew Jones: sprint medley relay.

Green River: Tay Johnson: 100 meters, 100 and 300 meter hurdles, long jump. Savannah Williams: 100 meters, high jump and long jump.  Cassidee Moore: 800 and 1600 meters. Kyle Johnson: 100 and 200 meters, long jump, 4×100 relay. Joe Serafin: 100 and 200 meters, long jump, 4×100 relay. Tyrell Shumway: 100 meters, javelin, long jump, 4×100 relay. Corbin Mecham: discus and shot put. Jon Mendez: high jump, long jump, 4×100 relay. Jovani Flores: long jump.

Note: Only the top nine relays from each classification will be accepted into the meet. Additionally, the top 12 athletes in each classification will be accepted into the 3200 meters. Thus, only Carbon boy’s sprint medley team qualified to participate at BYU. Emery’s 4×100, 4×400 and sprint medley relays qualified.

Carbon will then participate in the Region 12 Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday at Juab High School. Emery will travel to North Sevier High School to participate in the Region 15 Championship Tuesday. Green River will head to Blanding on Tuesday for the Region 19 Championship.
