Following a two-week layoff from baseball action, the Pinnacle Panthers returned to the field stronger than ever. Pinnacle defeated Telos 20-6 in five innings Monday night. The convincing win puts momentum in the Panthers corner as they travel to Manila this Friday to compete in a double header.

According to Pinnacle head coach Cameron Gardener, the win will propel the team into region conference action. “There are a lot of positives that we can take away from this game,” Gardener explained. “This win will help with the players’ moral.”

Every eligible player for Pinnacle played during the Telos game, making the win a complete team effort. “We had a few players who were in a bit of a slump, but they were able to come out and make some big hits,” explained Gardener. “We also had some kids play who usually don’t get a lot of playing time. Everyone did a great job.”

According to the head coach, Levi Rutherford had some impressive hits during the home game while Austin Vigil produced several good plays for the Panthers. “Austin is a senior who doesn’t see much playing time, but he is always mentally ready to go,” Gardener explained. “He always has a positive attitude and the experience was good for him.”

Gardner looks forward to beginning region action and feels that Monday’s win will boost the Panther’s confidence and lead to a successful season.
