On Wednesday, the Pirates were on the road to play Diamond Ranch Academy. The Diamondbacks jumped out to a quick seven-run lead after the first inning. Green River played even with Diamond Ranch the next few innings before the D-backs scored two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to walk off the game, applying the mercy rule, 10-0.

The game was much closer without the first inning, but the Pirates could not get anything going offensively. They only had four hits in the contest.

Green River then hosted Valley on Friday. The Buffalos struck first with one run in the first. The Pirates tied the game in the second at one. Both teams scored a run in the third and then Green River had its first lead of the game in the fourth when it pushed across one run to make it 3-2. The lead was short-lived as Valley immediately knotted the game at three in the fifth.

Then, in the sixth, the wheels came off as the Buffalos struck for five. They added two more in the seventh to make it 10-3. The Pirates made an attempt at a comeback but fell short, 10-6.

Sam Corrigan went 2-3 while Weston Hatfield-Knight hit a two-RBI double. Green River gave up 20 hits in the match and 10 runs for the second straight game.

Green River will be on the road this whole week. The Pirates (4-11, 3-7 Region 19) first test will be against Bryce Valley (3-14, 1-10 Region 19) on Wednesday followed by Panguitch (10-7, 7-3 Region 19) on Friday.
