It was recently announced that the Carbon County Landfill is hosting the annual free landfill days from April 13 to 23.

The landfill will be free to all county residents during these days, commercial businesses excluded. Also taking place during the spring cleaning season is the Price Municipal Corporation annual clean-up for 2019.

According to a recent release, all Price City residents that are within the city limits are encouraged to begin placing items they wish to dispose of out beginning Saturday, April 13. The conclusion of the clean-up days will be on Sunday, April 21. The city is allowing yard trash to be set on parkways, curbs and road sides that are within the city’s right of way.

All trash must be separated correctly into the following piles: the first being tree limbs, flowers, bushes, grass, wood, weeds and other organic materials; the second being brick, concrete, rock, masonry debris and dirt; the third metal and the fourth rubber tires.

Those that wish to take place in the clean-up are instructed to place the trash away from trees, cars, fire hydrants, street signs, water meters and other obstructions.

Do not let your materials for the clean-up block waterways, sidewalks, curbs and gutters. Crews will collect and remove all yard trash as long as it is separated and all piles are a manageable size. No items are to be longer than ten feet or block traffic.

All items must be placed in such a way that the city crews will be able to handle them safely. All piles must be secure to prevent items from scattering while traveling or in the wind. The city is informing all residents not to include domestic household garbage that includes oxidants, paint, acids, oils, antifreeze, herbicides, pesticides, batteries, electronic waste, treated lumber or railroad ties.

Commercial companies, as well as contractors, are not allowed to use this time for their project debris. They are deemed responsible for their removal and Price City reserves the right to reject any pile of trash or debris that is not proper to handle. Those piles will be the responsibility of the resident.

Only one cleanup a year will be hosted by Price City and those with questions may contact the Price City Public Works at (435) 637-5010 or visit www.priceutah.net. To dispose of pesticides or herbicides, contact USU Extension at (435) 636-3234. For used oil, call the Collection Center List for Used Oil at (435) 637-5010.
