Prizes and Points for Local Cowboys and Cowgirls at Home Rodeos *Photo Gallery*

Thursday evening started the events of the annual Carbon High School rodeo. Alyssa Adair was crowned queen at the event center and reined over the weekend rodeos.

On Friday morning, the shooting sport competition was hosted at the Emery County Gun Club Range. Kolton Rhodes captured first place for both rodeos in the rifle shoot followed by his brother Kagen with sixth and third place finishes. In the trap shoot competition, Kagen placed first and fourth. Ruger and Trinity Payne received eight and ninth, respectively. Jace Draper finished in ninth.

The Carbon Rodeo Friday evening was successful for Jessica Fox as she took sixth in breakaway roping. Hayden Cloward was second in tie down and also placed second with partner Cash Catoor from the Cedar Club in team roping. Caleb Rubio scored 56 points in bull riding at the conclusion of the rodeo.

Saturday morning, the Emery Club hosted the rodeo at the Blue Sage Arena in Castle Dale. Hayden Cloward roped and tied his calf fast enough to rank first in tie down toping. Jessie McElprang was eight in breakaway roping while Riata Chrtistiansen was fifth in goat tying and fourth in reining cow horse.  Drake Weber, sixth, and Korby Christiansen, ninth, did well in reining cow horse.

The rodeo teams will now hit the road and compete at Delta this coming weekend.
