The Ferron/Price Ranger District of the Manti-La Sal National Forest Service is planning to offer the Reeder Timber Sale this winter. Prior to snow fall, the forest is encouraging potential bidders to review the timber sale. The sale is comprised of dead standing and down Engelmann spruce for an estimated volume of 43,945 CCF on approximately 1935 acres. The volume per acre is 22.7 CCF with an average diameter at breast height of 15.7 inches. The units are designated by description with reserve (wildlife and boundary) trees marked with orange paint.
The Reeder timber sale is located in Township 16 South, Range 5 East, Sections: 29, 31, 32, and 33, and Township 17 South, 5 East, Sections: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, and 27. Salt Lake Base Meridian. The sale can be accessed starting from the Sanpete Ranger District, located in Ephraim, travel South on US-89 for 1.2 miles, then turn left onto East 400 South. Travel east for .4 miles then turn right onto South, 300 East (Canyon Road). Drive 15.6 miles then take a slight left onto North Skyline Drive. Drive 6.1 miles to Sale Area Boundary.
