Mrs. Rasmussen graduated from Utah State University with her degree in Elementary Education and soon after began her career at Cleveland Elementary. She remained teaching at Cleveland Elementary throughout her whole career of 39 years. She was an exceptional teacher that all children adored. She received many awards during her tenure including the Arch Coal Teacher Award, Teacher of the year for Cleveland Elementary, and Teacher of the Month from Emery School District. After Cleveland Elementary won the prestigious No Child Left Behind Blue-Ribbon Award, she was selected to go to Washington D.C. to receive the honors.

Mrs. Rasmussen has always loved her students and always made them feel special. Each year children looked forward to being in her class with the anticipation of getting their “special book.”  For the past 20 years she has been making each student feel special by making them a personal scrapbook with memories from that school year.

Cleveland Elementary won’t be the same without this long time veteran. Congratulations Mrs. Rasmussen and happy retirement!!

Please join us September 25th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 at the Cleveland Elementary cafeteria for an open house to celebrate Mrs. Rasmussen’s retirement.
