On Thursday afternoon, the Emery High Lady Spartans soccer team welcomed Richfield to their home field.
Finding themselves evenly matched in the first half, the teams entered the break tied at 1-1. However, in the second round, Richfield made a large leap, scoring six goals while holding the Lady Spartans to two.
Ending the game with a final score of 7-3, Richfield left Emery High triumphant.
Lady Spartans Jocee Funk, Morgan Hurdsman and Sara Ouafi all scored one goal apiece.
Emery (8-3, 4-2 Region 15) currently sits in third in the Region 15 standingss. The Spartans will next look to an away game against #1 Manti (9-2, 7-0 Region 15) on Oct. 2, beginning at 4 p.m.
