Led by five seniors, San Juan hosted Emery on Tuesday night on the volleyball court. The Lady Broncos’ experience helped fluster the Spartans early and gain the 25-14 first set win.
Emery battled hard all night but fell late in the second and third sets, 25-18 and 25-19, respectively, for the match loss. In the end, the Lady Broncos’ maturity was too much for Emery.
The Lady Spartans (5-6, 0-2 Region 12) will need to rebound quickly as they will host the Lady Dinos (7-3, 0-1 Region 12) on Thursday. The rivalry game carries more weight than usual. With both teams looking for their first region win, neither wants to fall too far behind the eight ball as region play is getting underway.
