On Saturday, an accident occurred as a RZR was traveling northbound on State Route 157 just north of mile post 1 entering the town of Helper. Two occupants, one male and one female, were in the RZR when it ran off of the left side of the roadway and rolled onto its passenger side.

According to Sgt. Street with Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), due to the RZR rolling, it pinned the female. This caused fatal injuries to the female, identified as Precillinn Garcia, who passed away as a result. The male occupant was also found lying on top of Garcia when the accident was located.

The male in question also suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover. The male was also determined to be the driver; according to UHP, his shoe print was on the gas pedal and he admitted to driving on the scene. Sgt. Street stated that alcohol and drugs are considered a factor and UHP is currently screening charges of auto-homicide.

Garcia, age 23, was a Carbon County resident and mother to one daughter. She leaves behind her daughter, parents, brothers and many loving family members. To view her obituary, please click here.
