Bruin Point Elementary School (BPE) students, faculty and staff have banded together to create an event that will benefit a local family in need.

Recently, 33-year-old Travis Quinn was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the colon and GI tract. Quinn is the father to four boys, ages seven and four as well as 14-month-old twins and is also quoted to be a devoted husband.

Quinn is known for putting other’s needs before his own. Living in such a rural area, he must travel approximately 250 miles round trip for his treatments. This adds up to major financial burdens and BPE saw the need to assist the family in any way that it could. This help came in the form a silent auction that the school is hosting on May 14 on behalf of the Quinn family.

Bruin Point has been busy preparing for this auction, reaching out to many businesses, entities and individuals in the Castle Country area and requesting either a monetary donation or an item to be auctioned. All donations and funds raised during this auction will directly benefit the Quinn family to assist in medication, bills, transportation, daycare and more.

Those interested in donating time, funds or silent auction items are encouraged to contact the school at (435) 888-4474.
