The Manti-La Sal National Forest Hosts Annual Special Needs Fishing Day

Price, UT, June 13, 2024 — The Manti-La Sal National Forest is hosting the annual Special Needs Fishing Day on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Gigliotti Pond in Helper, UT from 9 a.m. to noon. This marks the 16th anniversary of the event.

The Special Needs Fishing Day is a free event for community members who have special needs and would like to experience a day of fishing. This event requires no registration, all fishing supplies are provided, and free lunch is offered after the event. Any assistance needed while fishing will be provided by various Manti-La Sal National Forest employees and other volunteers to ensure everyone has a good time on the pond.

The Manti-La Sal National Forest would like to thank the following partners for their generous support during this annual event: Wolverine Fuels for providing culinary support, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for providing fishing tackle, Helper City for providing tables and chairs, and Emery County Recreation for providing shade canopies, and the and the Bureau of Land Management for personnel support.
