San Juan and Carbon had a quick turn around from their last meeting and came together in Price, this go around on Tuesday. The Lady Dinos came out strong and held a 16-14 lead in the first set. San Juan took over from there and went on a huge 11-3 run to close out the first set 25-19.

The Lady Broncos continued their momentum and grabbed a 9-2 advantage early in the second set. Carbon never could recover and went down 2-0, quickly falling 25-15. The Lady Dinos had an answer the third set and shot out of the gates to lead 7-2. San Juan tied the game at nine before Carbon took off with 10-4 run to go up 19-13. The Lady Dinos could not capitalize as San Juan knotted it all up at 22. The Lady Broncos went on to complete the sweep with a 25-23 win.

Cora Lamborn had a team-high 14 kills with an impressive 46.7 kill percentage. Katie Jones led the Lady Dinos with 13 digs followed by Emma Christensen and Gracie Salas with 11 apiece. Makenna Blanc enabled the offense with 24 assists.

Carbon (8-7, 1-5 Region 12) will host Emery (5-11, 0-6 Region 12) for round two of the rivalry match. Carbon got the best of Emery in the first encounter and will look for the season sweep on Thursday evening. The matched will be streamed live on etvnews.com/livesports.
