TOURISM FUND APPLICATIONS

Carbon County Office of Tourism is now accepting applications for Tourism Funds for events in 2019 from now until December 15, 2018 for 2019 First Quarter. If you have an event in January, February, or March of 2019 that you wish to apply for Tourism funds, you will need to get your application in by December 15, 2018 for consideration. All applications must be picked up in person at 751 E. 100 N. in Price from Tina Henrie, Tourism Specialist. We will review the first quarter application for 2019 in December. All other applications will be reviewed in March, June, September, and December 2019. It is important that you turn in your applications for review during the quarter PRIOR to your event.

Tourism fund taxes are derived from what is commonly known at the restaurant tax, as set forth in Utah Code Annotate (U.C.A.) 59-12-603. The purpose of the restaurant tax funds is to finance tourism promotion, and to finance the development, operation and maintenance of airports, convention, cultural, recreational, and tourist facilities.

For applicants holding events in 2019 that may promote tourism, funding will most likely be in the form of advertising or promotions that highlight the event and that will have an impact on our local restaurants, motels/hotels, and RV spaces.

Applications are approved by the County Commission, after the County Tourism Tax Advisory Board reviews your application and makes recommendations to the Commission.

For more information, please contact Tina Henrie at (435)636-3701. Applications can be picked up at 751 E. 100 N. in Price at Tina’s office.
