It was a good day for USU Eastern basketball teams on Saturday. Both the men and women earned conference wins with lopsided victories over Colorado Northwestern Community College. The women won 90-53.

The Lady Eagles came out hard and fast Saturday afternoon and quickly took control. They built on the lead and left the Lady Spartans in the dust. It was a 20-point lead by the half.

Byranna Adams scored 16 points to lead the Eagles. Isabel Costa added 14 while grabbing nine boards. Caroline Fisher also poured in 14 points and Abby Call grabbed nine rebounds.

Coach Dave Paur was pleased with the performance of his team. He said that the tournament play in California paid off with his team being sharp and ready to hit the floor. However, he still feels like they are not taking enough shots. Paur would like to see them shooting much quicker each time they go down the floor.

The Eagles are now 8-9 overall and 2-1 in SWAC action. They will play at Snow College on Friday and Salt Lake Community College on Saturday.
