The USU Eastern women’s volleyball team advanced to the #20 spot in national rankings this week. After going 3-1 this past weekend with an impressive battle against #4 Miami Dade, the Eagles proved they deserve a spot in the top 20 rankings in the NJCAA. With a 13-3 record, the Lady Eagles are focused on being ready for their conference opener on Sept. 26 against #8 Salt Lake Community College.

“These girls deserve a spot in the top 20; however, we know as a team and a coaching staff that our main goal is to win a conference title this year and make an appearance at the national tournament. This recognition helps our young team understand that they can compete with the best in the nation. Playing the tough programs that we scheduled during these tournaments is allowing us to make the adjustments that we need to be ready to compete in the toughest conference in the nation. That is our focus right now,” said head coach Danielle Jensen

The Lady Eagles will again face tough competition this weekend at the Pizza Hut Invitational in Sterling, Colo. There, they will take on #11 Iowa Western, #16 Northeastern, Casper College and Western Wyoming.
