One thing about Castle Country is that the wind can blow.

It did for Carbon and Emery highs’ home rodeos this past weekend, but the rodeo teams persisted. Carbon team member, Kolton Rhodes, won two first-place titles at the North Springs Shooting Range in the rifle shoot. Other Dinos Hagen Campbell placed fourth and second Friday and Saturday, respectively, and Kagen Rhodes captured seventh place both days, also in the rifle shoot.

In the Pole Bending Sierra Edwards had fast enough runs for third and sixth. Morgan Jensen placed ninth in the barrels.

Emery team members who persevered and placed were Hayden Cloward with a third in team roping both days and a fourth in tie down roping on Saturday. Will and Wyatt Magnuson were ninth in team roping and Will placed fourth in tie down roping.

Korby Christiansen also roped fast enough for eighth in tie down on Saturday. In breakaway roping, Makayla Jensen was 10th and Riata Christiansen placed eighth. Drake Weber placed 9th in the reined cow horse.

Select pictures include various rodeo members from across the state at Friday’s rodeo hosted by Carbon.
