According to Jonetta Trued, Public Information Officer of the Eastern Management Team who is now overseeing the blaze, the Seeley Mountain Fire is growing at a rate of 1-2,000 acres per day.

As of yesterday evening the fire had consumed 20,300 acres and was at zero containment.

Trued said around 150 firefighters are on ground right now with four engine crews and three helicopters assisting the suppression efforts.

She detailed theВ suppressionВ plans as such:

Crews are on the north side of the fire inspecting lines and are in the process of determining whether the roads in the area can be used to help burn out the fire. Crews are also placing structural protection on the north side as well to keep it from moving. The engine crews and helicopters are using water to help keep flames under control.
