Athletes braved sub-freezing temperatures early Saturday morning at the Scofield Triathlon.

Scofield is known for the “Escape From Scofield” race that starts on an island in the reservoir. Athletes swim 1.75 miles, bike 37 miles and finish the race with a 10-mile run.

Many people think that anyone who would do this to themselves are crazy, but Emery County’s Ted Luke said, “ It’s not crazy, it’s about the satisfaction and pleasure of knowing that you could do it.”
