11 Lady Spartans Score in Drubbing of Manti *Photo Gallery and Video Highlights*

In another dominating victory, the Emery Lady Spartans led 44-2 in the third quarter before coasting to the 69-34 win over the Manti Templars Thursday night in Castle Dale.

The Lady Spartans outscored the Templars 131-50 in two games this season.

Emery led 29-0 before Manti scored its only first-half bucket at the 4:45 mark of the second quarter. Emery then ended the quarter on a 9-0 run to take the 38-2 lead into halftime.

Kacelyn Toomer and Lainee Jensen hit back-to-back 3-pointers to open the second half to extend the Spartan lead to 44-2. Manti then outscored Emery 14-13 the rest of the quarter.

The Spartans played the bulk of the third and fourth quarters with sophomores and freshman, allowing the Templars to cut into the lead by the final horn.

Emery shot 51% from the floor, led by Kinlee Toomer with 12 on 5-7 shooting. Bailey Huggard, Megan Jensen and Lainee Jensen each chipped in eight points. Ten Lady Spartans scored at least three points in the game. They also hit nine 3-pointers in the game, going 9-19. Four players (Hailey Allred, Madisyn Alton, Kinlee Toomer, Lainee Jensen) hit two threes in the game.

Emery (15-1, 6-0 Region 15, #2 in 2A) will play at Gunnison (5-11, 2-3 Region 15) on Tuesday. The Lady Spartans beat the Bulldogs 72-23 back on Jan. 10.
