The 2019 Community Daze Grand Marshal has been announced as Edna Robles Hunt. Community Daze is an annual celebration that is hosted in East Carbon and Sunnyside.

Hunt was born in Grand Junction, Colo. before moving to Dragerton in 1943. The purpose of the move was for her father, Albert, to work in Horse Canyon Mine. In 1950, she married Lloyd Hunt and together they raised four boys, Randy, Karl, Jeff and Mark. Hunt has 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Often, Hunt is lovingly referred to as Grandma Edna by many, even those that aren’t her blood. She spent her life tending to her family, supporting them at their many games, functions and community events. Aside from her family, Hunt always cheered on all that resided in East Carbon and welcomed them into her home often.

“Wherever you see Edna in Carbon County, she is serving others, whether it be her sister, grandchildren or a neighbor in need,” stated Community Daze representative Jenn Maestas.

Those that are attending the annual, well-loved event are encouraged to stop and chat with Hunt, congratulating her and hearing her many tales of the locals.
