Three Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop by Price City Police

On Friday, at4:27, Price City Police Officer Drew Olson made a traffic stop in the area of 100 North Carbon Avenue following a tip that a warrant subject was in the vehicle and after observing the vehicle make a traffic violation.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Olson detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and was able to identify the rear seat passenger as the wanted subject. Following the arrest of the warrant subject, a search of the vehicle was performed.

During the vehicle search, officer Olson located a sizable amount of illegal drugs hidden inside the center console. The total amount located consisted of 22.1 grams of methamphetamine and 4.3 grams of heroin along with several items of paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of controlled substances.

The stop resulted in three individuals being booked at the Carbon County Jail on the following charges:

Daniel Hurtado, 35 – Possession of heroin with intent to distribute in a drug free zone and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in a drug free zone.

Hurtado has been arrested at least 23 times in Utah, resulting in 17 convictions, nine of which are felonies.

Coral Ann Nash, 30 – Possession of heroin with intent to distribute in a drug free zone, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in a drug free zone and driving on a suspended license.

Nash has been arrested at least 11 times in Utah, resulting in five convictions.

Fred David Duran, 24 – Possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug free zone and three warrants.

Duran has been arrested at least five times in Utah, resulting in four convictions.

Officer Olson was assisted at the scene by sergeant Kelly Maynes, officer Chris Pugliese and Carbon County Deputy Sheriff Dale Maxfield.
