At Wednesday’s Price city council meeting, two more educational scholarships were handed out to deserving USU students. As these students were handed their scholarship certificates, the council members voiced their impression with their essays and what they have accomplished both inside and outside Price city.
The first scholarship went to Trinity Gibbs. Trinity grew up in Price and has recently moved back to her home town from Arizona. She is currently working at the high school with the Upward Bound program. Upward Bound is a program that helps high school students prepare for college. She is earning her associates degree and will continue on to attain a bachelor’s, although she is still undecided what field of study she would like to pursue. She was given a scholarship of $350.
The second scholarship handed out was to Steven Foster. Steven’s father is in the Navy, which caused him to move around a lot as a child but ended up in Price to be with family. Foster wishes to stay in price and attend USU-Eastern to take advantage of their strong business program, which is his planned area of study. He plans on joining the Navy after he attains his degree, and after serving his country, he wants to come back to Price and open up a cheer gym for the city. He was issued a scholarship of $650.
