A Miner’s Memorial fundraiser dinner took place on Thursday at the Carbon County Events Center.
Price City Mayor Joe Piccolo welcomed and thanked the attendees for their generosity, expressing gratitude to the organizers of the committee, Dennis Ardohain and Frank Markosek.
Piccolo then introduced the line-up of speakers, including retired Utah State Senator Mike Dmitrich, MSHA Administrator Kevin Stricklin, Executive VP of Norwest Carl Pollastro and Utah State Senator David Hinkins.
Each of the speakers related mining stories and praised the memorial committee for setting into motion such a large and meaningful project.
Following dinner and the speakers, the evening wrapped-up with a silent auction.
