After a big win in a 1A play-in contest on Tuesday, the Pinnacle Panthers lost to Diamond Ranch in the first round and to Bryce Valley in the consolation bracket to end their season.
Levi Rutherford led Pinnacle against Diamond Ranch on Wednesday with 22 points, including a career-high six threes. Next up was Noah Mascarenas with nine points. Diamond Ranch led 51-30 at halftime. The game ended with a Diamond Ranch 86-49 win.
The loss forced the Panthers to the consolation bracket where they matched up against Bryce Valley on Thursday. Another slow first doomed Pinnacle as it fell behind early, ending the first quarter with a 29-9 deficit. The Panthers lost the game 75-38.
No player scored in double figures for Pinnacle, led by Mascarenas and Jorrdon Richardson with eight points apiece.
Pinnacle ends the season with an overall 14-10 record, including a 5-3 mark in Region 19.
