In their annual trip to Montrose, Colo., the Emery Spartans went 1-2 over the weekend, beating Eagle Valley Colo. and dropping games to Montrose and Delta, Colo.
On Friday, Easton Gordon and Bryce Dugmore each nailed triples. Tel Gardner picked up the win on the mound. Jordan Baletka, Tristan Deabenderser and Gardner each hit doubles for a team total of five extra-base hits. Eagle Valley made in interesting in the sixth and seventh, scoring all seven runs.
Then on Saturday, the Spartans fell to both Montrose and Delta by a combined score of 25-13.
Emery (1-4, 0-0 Region 15) will begin Region 12 play at Grand on Tuesday before traveling to Helper to take on the Carbon Dinos on Friday.
