After a decision was made last August as to the location of a Carbon County Soccer Complex, the first steps have been taken in regards to the new addition to Carbon County.
Located at the Carbon County Fairgrounds, the addition has been the subject of much discussion and involvement from local citizens and county commissioners.
Though still under design, commissioner Casey Hopes offered insight into the plans, which hope to include a total of three fields, a pavilion with restrooms and a parking lot.
The designing and engineering will be completed by Jones & DeMille Engineering with the Carbon County Road Derpartment performing the rough grading of the area.
Bidding for the project has not been completed, but will be upon completion of the project’s design.
Funding has been provided by the Recreation and Transportation Special Service District, the CIB, an incoming match from the county as well as Castleview Hospital, totaling over $1.2 million.
An exact date of the project’s completion is unknown at this time.
